Working as a dental professional is such a rewarding career. Having the ability to help people improve their overall health, wellbeing and happiness by showing them how to maintain good gum and oral health feels like a real superpower at times.
One of the main reasons I chose to specialise in Periodontology is because it allows me to give people the chance to completely change their lives for the better, to feel and be healthy, not just to have a beautiful smile.
I love working as a Periodontist because the overall goal of the work itself aligns with my personal goals.
Sure, simply having a beautiful smile can change a life for the better, but if the supporting structures for the teeth are in bad condition, the smile will eventually turn to a frown due to pain or damage to the teeth, and none of the aesthetic appearance will matter.
I love working as a Periodontist because the overall goal of the work itself aligns with my personal goals. I’m a very health-conscious individual, so specialising in a dental profession that focuses on attaining and maintaining ideal oral health conditions (through both surgical and non-surgical means) provides me with deep satisfaction. It is highly rewarding to see my values reflected in my work and in the smiles of my patients.
If you also specialised in Periodontology, why did you choose to do so?
